Hi everyone, Erin Reed here today to show you how I made this eye frame using items that I had in my studio.
I have had this frame sitting on my art desk for a while and it has been begging for me to create with it. As I sat down to create with the Rita Barakat face stencils the frame was laying on top of the eye portion. Boom, sometimes a project idea comes from just looking at your supplies in a different perspective.
I started with stamping on watercolor paper with the various color of ColorBox Crafter’s® by Ann Butler with the Rita Barakat Art Foamies stamp and then I traced the eye portion in a pencil and colored it in with Colorique Inks.
The Colorique inks colored the frame so well, it covered every little crevice of the intricate frame. Sanding off a layer and using the Crafter’s ink to add a layer of darker color made it really pop!
I had the little wooden stand left from a previous project that had just been sitting on my desk, I think I have a habit of doing that… but it was a perfect fit. Now it is a little framed eye on a stand. Something a bit quirky and fun, the Colorique colored the wood wonderfully!!
