Hey Crafty Friends!! Larissa here today to share some ideas on ways to Dress up a few glass Jars! I created a diy jar vase with spring flowers, in a couple of variations, which can be used for many occasions! First, I started with my glass jars, washing them and drying them well before I started to paint them with Colorbox ColorQue Inks by Lisa Marie Jimenez.
I mixed together Verdigris, Frisco Bay, Turquoise Mountain and Snow Summit together to create a custom color. Then, I painted the vases using the custom color and let the jar dry. Because I wanted a solid heavy color, I added 3 layers of color. When the last layer was completely dry, I took fine grit sand paper and sanded the raised areas to create texture. One of the jars I painted, I did not sand because I was going to add more detail to it.
The other jar, I used an Art Dauber and Clear Embossing Ink and created random dots onto the jar. Then I added Gold Sparkle Embossing Powder. I heat set it and my second vase was done. Add pretty spring flowers and you have a beautiful vase for any occasion.
