Today I am sharing with you the Antoinette Gift Box and “Key to the Crown” necklace I made using Graphic 45 Papers and Clearsnap® products for their blog hop.
I love vintage things so it was easy for me to create something from the Graphic45 Gilded Lily line and their Metal Keys/Keyholes. In this tutorial I will show you how to make the Antoinette Gift Box. At the bottom of this post is a link to the tutorial for the “Key to the Crown” necklace to go inside the box.
Supplies needed to make the Antoinette Gift Box:
- Graphic 45 Gilded Lily Collection Papers: Gilded Lily, Crème de la Crème, Golden Age, Her Majesty, Royal Gardens, Lavish Lifestyle
- Graphic 45 Mixed Media 5×5 Box-Kraft
- Pearl Embellishments (5)
- Clear Plastic Button
- Brass Flower Embellishments (1 small, 1 medium)
- Brass Crown Embellishment
- Small Pink Stone Embellishment
- Ornate Gold Trim (20inches)
- Gold Glitter Glue
- Ribbon, Mauve (14inches)
- Satin Fabric, Gold
- Hemp Cord (6inches)
- Beading Awl or Sharp Pick Tool
How I made this Antoinette Box:
I used a plain piece of paper to first make the template to cover the sides of the box. Then I used the template to cut the paper for the sides of the box. The outer sides of the box are covered with the Golden Age floral paper. The top and bottom of the box and flap are covered with the dot pattern side of Her Majesty paper. Cut out all the decorative blocks on the Gilded Lily paper. Affix the Antoinette, large graphic, to the top of the box, the lily graphics to the sides of the box and the front flap. Glue the ornate gold trim around the border of the Antoinette graphic, then glue a pearl embellishment onto each corner of the trim.Cover the inside top of the box with the striped pattern of the Gilded Lily paper. Cut out the “If the Crown Fits” graphic from the Lavish Lifestyle paper and affix it to the inside center. Use the gold glitter glue to apply a glitter border to the graphic. Attach the crown and stone embellishments to the graphic. Cut the strip of lily flower from the Royal Garden paper and apply to the inner flap.Use the Golden Age, Her Majesty and Crème de la Crème to cover the inside of the box. Close the box and mark where the closers will be on the box. Poke holes through the box with a beading awl. Use hemp cord to attach the button, brass embellishment to the box. Add a peal to the center of the button. Make a hole in the center of the flap and add the small flower embellishment and the ribbon.Arrange the gold satin fabric inside the box and place the “Key to the Crown” Necklace on the fabric. You now have a beautiful gift for someone.
